An all levels guided group class moving through a portion of the standing and seated postures of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga connecting breath and movement to steady the mind while building internal heat, strength and flexibility. We first practice stability and ease in the body and mind and then in our lives. These practices are like tools in your toolbox able to be applied to daily life. Come learn and experience this transformative breath and movement based practice to cleanse, strengthen and gain flexibility in the body and mind as a way to support your life. All are welcome. A guided group class moving through half of the postures of Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga with a focus on breath, posture and gaze to purify the nervous system, detoxify the body and steady the mind while also building internal heat, strength and flexibility. Through consistent practice one can cultivate mental focus, vitality and a deeper sense of self awareness. While not a beginners class, this class may be more accessible to those newer to Yoga or to the practice of Ashtanga. You may find yourself challenged but in a way that is appropriate for you. A guided group class moving through the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, also referred to as "Yoga Chikitsa" or Yoga Therapy. This sequence uses breath, posture and gaze to purify the nervous system, detoxify the body and steady the mind while also building internal heat, strength and flexibility. Through consistent practice one can cultivate mental focus, vitality and a deeper sense of self awareness. This is not a beginners class and is best suited for those familiar with the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series or those with a regular yoga practice. Early morning is considered an auspicious time for practice. During this time there is a pure, still energy and vibration that exists in nature and within us. The mind is relatively calm and undisturbed before the world wakes and the energy shifts. This can be a powerful time for introspection and transformation.
Rise and awaken the sun within in this guided group class through intentional breath and movement building strength, flexibility, self awareness and mental clarity setting the energy and tone for your day. Our online booking system does not take payments for class fees. It is for class signup only. All class payments are made through venmo or cash/card in studio.
